I love working with the children. Being an admirer of Reggio Emilia Approach, I believe environment as a third teacher. I love taking children in nature to have life-long learning. I also believe that children are capable enough to create learning and achieving milestones, the only thing they need is the right direction. As a teacher, it is our responsibility to provide that support and guidance. I aim to provide experiences to the children to help them growing in independent, confident and competent learners. I am also passionate about getting the children ready for the school so that they can start their next level of learning journey with full confidence.

Preschool Teacher

Hello, my name is Wendy and I am originally from China. I can speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese fluently. I hold a Bachelor of Education, (Pasifika early childhood teaching) and am a provisionally registered teacher. My teaching philosophy is to foster each child as a whole child as well as respecting their individual cultural background.

Niyanta Chand

Preschool teacher

Kia Ora, namaste and a warm Pasifika greetings.

My name is Niyanta Chand I was born in Fiji but raised most of my childhood years here in Aotearoa. I completed my Early Childhood Qualification through Auckland University of Technology in December 2017. I am a Qualified ECE teacher and hold a First Aid Certificate.

I have always been passionate to look after children from an early age, it’s a beautiful journey as we capture their first steps and cute moments of their learning and experience. I believe that the early years of development are the most fundamental years of a child. It’s a lot more than looking after children but seeing and treating each child as an individual is part of what makes that child a unique person and is a way of appreciating their special characteristics.

Sonali Sunaina

Preschool Teacher

Kia Ora, tēnā koutou katoa Bula!
I am a student teacher from MIT currently in my 3rd year of my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Teaching. I am excited to be a part of the Just Kidz, Flat Bush teaching team during my final year to strengthen my practice.

Born and raised in Aotearoa, I am Kiwi Indo-Fijian. Bringing my colourful Fijian Indian culture & language with me. I have lived in South East Auckland all my life. I believe tamariki are unique and they bring their whānau, culture, language, knowledge, experiences and interests with them to their learning environments, all which deserve to be recognised, celebrated and facilitated by the kaiako. Tamariki are seeds of flowers in a garden, each seed grows into a different flower each beautiful in their own right. Flowers require optimal external conditions to blossom – sunshine and water, as kaiako need to provide warmth, aroha, the feeling of safety and freedom for tamariki to develop and explore holistically.
Thank you
Have a lovely day!

Kia Ora whanau

I have been working with children for two years . I have recently finished my diploma level 5 in early childhood education and I am currently working towards level 7 degree and teachers registration.. I am from Rotorua where I grew up with my Aunty and helped her look after her children which is why I decided to become an ECE teacher , because I loved helping my Aunty care for my little cousins.

I believe that children should be in a positive, healthy and safe environment where they feel comfortable, confident and included. I completed my practicum with just kids Flat Bush at the beginning of this year and was offered a full time position which I am so grateful for, the teachers I am working with are amazing and I look forward to developing my skills/knowledge with the team as well as with myself.

I am approachable and look forward to working with the Just Kidz family.
