“As first time parents, we were nervous and quite picky about finding the right childcare for our one year old son. We visited several different centres in the New Lynn and Kelston area and fell in love with Just Kidz Kelston. This centre stood out from the rest for us because of the very friendly staff, the content and happy children and the new, vibrant learning environment. The transition visits were a great success with our baby bonding with teachers and other children. These sessions gave us the assurance we needed and knew he would be left in great hands!
We have loved the communication from the teachers and staff including daily notes to take home, learning stories and lots of photos to keep us updated. Our son has grown in confidence since attending the centre and has made some really positive relationships with many staff and children. We would highly recommend Just Kidz Kelston to any parent wanting high quality care for their child”.
Thank you for everything you do for our bubba – We really appreciate you all!
My third and final baby attends Just Kidz Kelston and I couldn’t recommend the centre more! The staff are amazing and run the place to a high standard! The way they interact with the kids is so special! They encourage their little personalities and interests making sure each child enjoys their time and learns. My Son absolutely loves going! Not to mention he has a soft spot for the chef! The centre itself is beautiful!
I Can’t fault a thing!
Meet Our Team
Centre Owner – Kelston
Hello, I am Maggie Xu. I studied engineering in Shanghai and traveled around the world and worked on super high-rise buildings, but that did not prevent me from being mesmerized by the good old Saturday BBQ where kids run wild and things get broken. Sooner or later we all come back to family, to kids mostly.
My Name is Jane Cooper- Scott and I am the Centre Manager of Just Kidz Kelston.
I am a qualified and registered teacher with over 20 years’ experience within the sector.
I have lived in Titirangi all my life and am currently living in Laingholm with my husband and two beautiful daughters.
I am passionate about building relationships with children and families within our community and managing a centre which provides quality early childhood education and care of our children.
At Just Kidz Kelston, you can be reassured that while you are away from your child, they will be loved and well taken care of. Our hand-picked team of educators show passion, warmth and have confidence in their teaching practice. Together we can support your child to grow and develop at their own pace, while having fun and feeling safe and secure.
Hi, my name is Hayley Mellsop and I am a teacher in the Piha Room at Just Kidz Kelston. I am a Qualified and Registered early childhood teacher with a passion for working with Under 2’s. I love watching children grow and develop, at their own pace, and love being able to document this journey for our families/whanau.
I live in Glendene, with my partner Mike, his two teenage daughters and our daughter Madison, who also attends Just Kidz Kelston.
Since having my daughter, I am even more dedicated to ensuring that we provide quality, loving, respectful care for all of the children who attend our centre, and developing trusting and reciprocal relationships with families/whanau. I truly understand what a huge decision it is, to leave your child in childcare. I couldn’t recommend Just Kidz enough, Madi and I just love it!

Furthermore, I not only believe in enhancing each child’s strengths, competence and self-esteem, but also in the development of the child’s personality, talents, mental and physical abilities to their fullest potential in a stimulating environment like Just Kidz.

Kia Ora & Konnichiwa,
My name is Yuka Fritiofsson and I grew up in Tokyo / Japan.
My first cooking experience goes back to the time when I was in my early teens and helped my parents at their traditional Japanese restaurant. Having the opportunity to be trained by qualified chefs from a young age made me really interested in cooking. Being a very active person still made me choose a different career path as an Instructor with focus on children.
After attaining my degree in Tokyo, I was working at a Fitness Club as an instructor; my specialty was swimming and most my students were preschool aged. During that time, I was also a camp leader at both summer and winter camps for young children.
My adventures as a traveler began in 2007 when I packed my bags and left for Australia, with that I also started my career abroad as a cook and never looked back.
The highlight in my life is my family with two energetic boys, they inspire me to become even more passionate about healthy cooking. I also understand the importance of best food safety practices at all times having completed training both in England and New Zealand.
I feel very privileged to cook for the children at Just Kidz Kelston, also looking after and caring for them as much as time allows.
