Welcome to Beachlands Centre
Just Kidz Beachlands is a beautiful, purpose-built centre, well located on Bell Road and conveniently across the road from Beachlands School. It is licensed for 86 children and caters for the educational and childcare needs of children from birth to 6 years of age. There are 4 very spacious learning spaces filled with exceptional learning and play resources. We have dedicated rooms for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers with amazing large nature inspired playgrounds to the side and the rear of the building.
We are open from 7am – 6pm, Monday to Friday and offer half day sessions, ‘school’ days or full days on either a full-time or part time attendance. Our great location means families and whanau can enjoy the convenience of dropping older siblings off to school saving them valuable travel time.
Just Kidz Beachlands, is proud of the experienced and passionate staff who provide ‘a fun place to learn’, whilst ensuring each and every learner feels safe, welcomed, recognised and supported in their development and care. The staff are nurturing and value each child, encouraging their potential and inspiring curiosity and exploration, leading to a life of learning and social competence. In this, children learn with and alongside each other, communicating and sharing, whilst developing confidence in leading their learning, inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy and Te Whāriki, the NZ ECE curriculum.
At Just Kidz Beachlands, we value, respect and recognise each child’s culture and identity. We want our children and families to hold a true sense of belonging within our centre and to feel that we are an extension of their home and community. Children and whanau will feel warm and welcomed, supported, heard and acknowledged.
We provide information about children’s ongoing development and learning through online portfolios, to enable sharing with family easily, as well as providing a portfolio book that each child can keep and revisit. These resources, beautifully capture the magic of learning and experience that each child embraces. In this, we work in partnership with parents and whanau in building on each child’s learning journey and recognise parents as first teachers.
Please, get in touch with us today or call in for a visit to see for yourself the fabulous and inspiring centre we have created and meet our fabulous team. We look forward to getting to know each new family and providing you with a wealth of support and positive early childhood experiences.
At the beginning of 2023 we moved both of our children to Just Kidz Beachlands. From the moment we entered the building Just Kidz has been a home away from home for our children. The infant room is well equipped with beautiful resources which encourage children to explore and develop through play. The phenomenal teachers are kind and caring. We cannot speak highly enough of them and the start they have given my daughter to her learning journey.
Our son is a member of the toddler/preschool room. He absolutely loves coming to kindy and what he has learnt in the time he has been attending Just Kidz blows my mind. Educational evidence shows that children learn best in a safe and nurturing environment and this is exactly what is offered daily. The structured mat times and learning opportunities as well as the opportunities to learn through play are well planned and inclusive of all the children’s current interests. The loving trusting relationships he has built with his teachers is an added bonus. I know he is in the best possible hands when he is not with us. We could not imagine a better place for our children to learn and grow into confident young learners who will be well prepared for their start to primary schooling.
Meet Our Team
Kia Ora, lei hou（Cantonese）你好！
I am Freddy, the Centre Director of Just Kidz Beachlands. I am from China and came to New Zealand when I was 16 years old with my family. I studied engineering as my major and have been involved in building residential and commercial buildings in China and New Zealand. Previous work experience has given me excellent imagination, understanding, execution ability and teamwork. An opportunity led me to join the Just Kidz whānau, I am full of passion and respect to welcome all of you to this beautiful Beachlands Centre. Our team aims to provide high-quality and abundant learning resources to your family and your children. Every member of our team is a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher, and we are fortunate to be a part of your child’s precious growth journey.
Kia Ora / Goeie dag,
My name is Natalie Pelser. Originally from the stunning landscapes of South Africa, I’ve found my home in the equally captivating beauty of New Zealand for the past several years. Specifically, I’ve come to cherish the enchanting locale of Beachlands and its close-knit community.
My academic journey led me through the halls of the University of South Africa, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Education ( Foundation Phase ). With a background in both Early childhood and Primary education, I’ve gained invaluable experience in these crucial developmental stages. What truly ignites my passion is delving into the intricacies of young minds and uncovering the ways we can equip them with the right tools and guidance to foster a lifelong love of learning.
On a personal note, I am a proud mother to a remarkable boy with additional needs. This has taught me immeasurable lessons about the importance of a nurturing environment in a child’s growth, the significance of kindness, and the art of patience. This experience has also fuelled my commitment to inclusivity, providing tailored support to children, and embracing that every child’s journey is respected and nurtured.
I hold the belief that every child possesses a distinct and individual way of learning and exploring, and I eagerly embrace the challenge of discovering their interests and facilitating their growth. Embarking on a new journey, I am thrilled to take on the role of Just Kidz Centre Manager. My aspiration is to cultivate a sense of trust, community, and a nurturing environment among the parents, whanau, and tamariki, as we collectively embark on this incredible voyage of learning and growth.
Hope to meet you all soon!
Kia ora Just Kidz whānau!
My name is Kelsey. I was born in Cape Town, South Africa and moved over to beautiful Aotearoa at the young age of four. I have just recently qualified as an ECE teacher and gained my Bachelor of Teaching from NZTC. I have had eight years’ experience in early childhood, and I am very passionate about caring for our tamariki. I believe that all children are different and unique in their own ways and should grow in a safe and positive environment where they can develop holistically (mind, body, and soul). I look forward in getting to know you and your tamariki more.
Hello my name is Rebecca,
I am a qualified and registered ECE teacher. A little bit about myself, I have three children aged 7, 5 and 7 months old. We love spending time together as a family, going on adventures and trying new things. We are often joined by our little dog Daisy.
My teaching philosophy is based around Reggio, encouraging children to explore and question. I am a spontaneous teacher who takes advantage of spontaneous teaching moments. I love the outdoors and encourage children to explore their natural environment, make assumptions and conduct research.
I look forward to getting to know your children and your family in our wonderful community.
If you have any questions about your little ones I love to chat, so feel free to ask.
